Sarah's Party.

Friday (September 18) we slept in. I was exhausted! When we finally got up, Justin and I watched Iron Man. It was good. I would recommend it to anyone who likes superhero type movies. And if there isn't an Iron Man 2, I am going to be incredibly pissed off. Anyhow, after we watched it, we went to Meijer to get stuff for dinner.

We got home and made dinner, ate and then just hung out for a little while. When time got close, I decided I should probably get a shower and get ready because we had Sarah's birthday party that night. So, we got ready and went down to the party. It started off with Krissi, Sarah and I playing Twister, Sarah got out rather quickly (I still think it was on purpose.) and Krissi and I played for what seemed to be forever before we finally agreed to both drop on three because we were both tired. After that we played Mafia and Catchphrase and just hung out and had fun for the rest of the night.

Let's see some high points were: our long bathroom break, Marc Wegener appearing and damaging the disco ball further, happy things, hats galore, oh and salsa at like 3 am. Yes, made my night. (And those of you who weren't there have no idea what I am talking about with those things, and that's ok.) After the party ended we went to bed.

Happy Birthday Sarah!

Thursday (September 17) I got up and got ready to go to Kalamazoo. I had to finish a load of laundry and then pack the suitcase, after that was done I took a shower and made a necklace for Sarah for her birthday. I was a little late getting on the road, but that's not surprising to anyone. I'm often late leaving because I get caught up doing other things.

I got to Kalamazoo just in time for dinner, so I called Justin and asked if him and the rest of the guys wanted Menna's for dinner. Of course, they did, so I stopped by and got dubs for all of us. We ate dinner and hung out for a bit. At eight, the new season of Survivor started! :) I was excited. Justin had never watched the show before, so I made him watch the first episode with me. He seemed to like it, but there are a lot of unanswered questions for people who have never seen the show.

After we were done watching TV we got ready to go out for Sarah's 21st. We wanted to go to Waldo's but we were a little late getting there and it was packed, so we went to Roadhouse. There was a fairly large group of us there and we enjoyed celebrating with Sarah. I'm sure most of the other people in the place didn't appreciate us all that much since we were loud, but we were having fun.

When we left the Roadhouse we were all hungry so we decided to go to Qudoba. Unfortunately, they were closed. So we went to Taco Bell instead. Our Taco Bell trip was rather interesting, but fun just the same. When we got home we ate and went to bed.

Applying.

Wednesday (September 16) I got up and started working on my cover letters and resume updates. I applied for three jobs, so it took a while for me to get them all done. I'm so over writing cover letter after cover letter, filling out tons of applications, editing my resume a bunch of times and getting no where. But there's no other way to do it, so I continue. When I was done I got a shower and went into town to drop the resumes in the mail.

While I was in town I also did the grocery shopping for the week. When I got home I worked on some stuff in my cave, did some laundry, and talked to that boy of mine. Then I went to bed. . . I had an exciting day ahead of me! :)

Association Meeting.

I spent Tuesday (September 15) morning and afternoon working on my blog and editing pictures. I also did some job hunting. I found a few online that were worth my while so I printed off the stuff I needed for them in preparation for writing my cover letters.

I made dinner for the family and then Dad and I had to get ready to go to a Firefighter's Association meeting. It's a meeting for the firefighters in the county. Typically only the Chief and maybe one or two other firefighters go. So I tagged along with Dad and Danny. It wasn't all too exciting, but more exciting than my every day life. I also found out that I will be starting fire academy the first week in December! :D I'm excited for that.

After the meeting we talked to some of the firefighters then headed to the house. When we got here I talked to Justin for a bit and then went to bed.

Monday (September 14) I got up in the morning when Justin got up for class and headed back to my parents'. Jeopardy.

On Yay Day, Justin's roommate Dan promised me if I didn't spill anything that night he would make me breakfast in the morning. I have been known for spilling whatever I am drinking all over the floor. Dan is a clean freak, and doesn't appreciate that, so he has taken to bribing me. Well Sunday (September 13) he owed me breakfast. So he made this amazing egg, hash brown, cheese, sausage mix. It was so good. After breakfast I was supposed to go home but I was so tired and scared of falling asleep on my way home that I decided to go back to sleep for a bit.

Justin and I slept until like four, possibly later. Then we finished Dreamcatcher with Dave. The movie was good, the book is better. It's only the second S.K. movie I have been disappointed in compared to the book. Typically they are pretty spot on. After the movie Justin and I played some Jeopardy, then we decided to go out to dinner on my way out of town. Katie joined us for said dinner. It wasn't until we were at the restaurant that I discovered it was seven already! I talked to my parents and we decided I should just stay another night and head home first thing in the morning.

So we hung out at Applebee's for a bit then headed back to the 409. When we got there Justin went to play tennis with Dave, so Sarah, Katie and I looked through the Yay Day pictures. When we were done we decided to play Jeopardy for a while. The girls and I played a game with Dan and Justin took Sarah's spot when he got back and we played a couple more games. Then we all went to bed.

Yay Day.

Saturday (September 12) would have been my wedding day had I not called off my engagement. So Katie and I were talking earlier in the summer and decided we should do something amazing on that day. Well we included Justin in that plan once we got together and Krissi as well. I was asking for a title for the day and Justin came up with Yay Day, the girls and I agreed that it was an amazing name. So, Yay Day stuck and we celebrated it, you better believe we celebrated.

I was told ahead of time that the morning would be with the girls and would be a surprise. Well on Friday night I was inside talking to Chris and Krissi and he asked what we were doing for the Bachelorette party. Ooh, finally a hint. :) Anyhow, so in the morning I got up and got a shower and said goodbye to Justin for the day. I went downstairs and got ready with the girls. They told me it was actually an unbachelorette party and gave me a tiara to wear, veil included, but thankfully they didn't make me wear ti the whole day. We headed for the mall. On the way, Katie asked me if I had saw the flag on the car, and I said yeah. (I thought she had gotten it at Bronco Bash.) It was loud and beating the car so at a stop light I took it off, well then I read it it said "We tied the knot!" except the girls wrote "un" before tied.

On Thursday we had decided we were going to have a Yay Day reception. Ya know? The reception without the wedding. I wasn't ready for a reception, I didn't bring clothes for a reception! So our first stop was to get me a dress! And the girls surprised me and paid for most everything for me that day. I felt so special and loved! While I was getting my dress Katie got her first pair of "big girl shoes." It made me laugh. After we got the dress we spent some more time walking around the mall, getting various things. (Yes, part of the day is a secret, because that's the way it goes! :) )

When we got done at the mall we went to Hooters for lunch. The waitress was hilarious. She asked if we were celebrating something and I said yeah. Then she asked what and I told her I was supposed to be getting married that day and she said but you aren't? And you are celebrating? I told her I was and she just walked away. It was incredibly funny to me. Anyhow, we ordered our food and the girls presented me with some gifts. An Unbachelorette Card, which said how happy they were that I wasn't getting married, because we would have never had this summer. There was also a garter, ring pops, and a groom bear in there. The groom bear was to be destroyed in whatever way I saw fit, yet I still have it. :) We ate lunch then headed back to the 409.

I was so tired so I cuddled up with Justin for a bit and took a nap. When I got up I started dinner. Once dinner was in the oven I got ready myself for the Yay Day Reception. Of course dinner was late, but that's expected of me. We had like 10ish people show up for dinner. It turned out very good, which always makes me happy when I have a successful meal. After dinner, Justin pulled me aside to give me a surprise that he had gotten me earlier in the day (and told me about and made me wait, grr....). It was a dozen (well actually 13) roses and a card. I almost cried, for real. Yay Day was definitely a day of reflection for me, and I get all emotional thinking about it now. Had I went through with the wedding, the people I consider closer than family wouldn't even be in my life. I cannot imagine life without them now. And that was really the gist of what Justin's card said. I won't write it hear out of fear of embarrassing him, but he understands why I say I don't regret things and why I felt the need to celebrate my unwedding day. I've had plenty of shitty stuff happen in my life, but if it wasn't for that stuff I wouldn't be here now, and I wouldn't trade the people in my life right now for anything.

Anyhow, back to my party, a bunch more showed up for games later. I was pleasantly surprised by a) how many people showed up and b) that EVERYONE who was there dressed up! Carolyn and Sarah got an "Unwedding" cake which was cut and ate during the party. We played various games and just a had a lot of fun together. I would write all the details, but honestly you would be reading for a week. I love those people, all of them. I'm not sure that my unwedding can be topped with a real wedding, if I have one. (Kidding, the cynic in me has all but disappeared.) Anyways, we partied the night away and finally went to bed early Sunday morning.

Bronco Bash.

Friday (September 11) I got up and Katie, Sarah, Justin and I went to Meijer to get some groceries and other stuff we needed. Nothing too exciting went down while we were there. We got our groceries as quickly as possible because it was absolutely necessary that we made it to the Bernhard Center in time for lunch because supposedly they were going to have the best lunch ever.

Well we got there and they didn't have what they were supposed to, so Sarah and Katie decided they just wanted to go back home and eat. Justin wasn't having that though. He told them that they HAD to get something from the Bernhard Center before he would let them leave. So they got something from the cafeteria and we got Taco Bell and went back to the 409. We ate out at the picnic table and talked and had fun.

When we were done eating, we all went and got ready for Bronco Bash. Katie and Sarah went ahead of us to get the Students for Life table set up. Then Dave, Krissi, Justin and I went to meet them. Katie asked me to take over the SFL table, so I did for a while. While I was there we all sparred (they had soft jousting stuff). It was a lot of fun.

After Bronco Bash, Dave, Justin and I went back to the apartment. We decided we wanted to go out to pizza later, so I called Krissi. We waited for her to get done at Bronco Bash and then the four of us went to Bimbo's downtown. It was a lot of fun. I love hanging out with them.

When we got done at Bimbo's we went back to the 409. Dave, Justin and I started watching the movie Dreamcatcher. I say started because Dave went to bed then Katie and Sarah came up so Justin and I stopped the movie to talk to them. Of course, Dave got back up to hang out with us once the girls showed up. :P We stayed up for a bit talking to them before we finally decided to call it a night.

Quote Book.

Thursday (September 10) I got up and finished my laundry. Then I packed up my stuff and got ready to go to Kalamazoo. When I got there I met Justin and Katie at the 409 and we went to the Roadhouse with a group of other people for dinner. The Roadhouse was remodeled this summer and this was my first time in the new restaurant, I definitely like the old building better. But isn't that the way it usually goes?

After dinner, Justin, Katie, Sarah and I went to the dollar store and Target. The girls were getting surprise stuff for Yay Day and I had to get a new quote book because my old one was almost filled. Isn't that crazy? It started as a fluke on Katie's 21st and now is completely filled. After we were done shopping we went back to the 409 and got ready for going out to Waldo's. Justin, Katie, Krissi, Evan, Cameron and I went down to Waldo's for a bit. While we were there the quote book was completed and Katie decorated the new one. After Waldo's we went to Evan's to hang out for a bit before we went back to the 409 and went to bed.

Lunch.

Wednesday (September 9) I got up and got ready to go to lunch with my mom. We went to Petoskey and picked up my great-aunt Blanche and met my mom's cousin, Lois, for lunch. We went to Applebee's to eat and talk. After lunch mom and I went to JoAnn Fabrics so I could get a couple craft things I needed.

When we were done at JoAnn's we went to JCPenny and Fashion Bug shopping for mom. I spent the time on the phone with Justin. We finished up in Petoskey, then went home.

After we got here I worked on my blog for a bit and did some other stuff online. Then I went to the fire hall. On my way there I realized the sunset was gorgeous so I stopped and took some pictures. When I made it down there, I ran the air station for a bit. When I got back I watched some TV and did some laundry. Then I went to bed.

Eclipse.

Tuesday (September 8) I got up early with Justin because he had to leave early to get to class. After I walked him out, I crawled back in bed and slept in. I woke up about the same time he got to Kalamazoo! :) I talked to him for a bit, then I started uploading pictures.

I spent the day uploading pictures, editing them and working on this. I didn't really do much else, other than talking to Katie and Justin, but that's kind of a given.

Labor Day.

Monday (September 7) Justin and I got up at five. Yes, five in the morning. We had decided we were going to walk the five miles across the Mackinaw Bridge first thing in the morning. Labor Day is the only day in the year that this is allowed, and while I have done it most of the years of my life, Justin had never had the experience. Every year I get all excited to do it until the night before or the morning of when I realize how effing early I have to be up!

Anyhow, we got up and ate breakfast and got dressed. Then we headed to Mackinaw. We had the pleasure of watching the sun rise while on the bridge and for the first time since 9.11.01, a freighter was allowed to go under the bridge while we were on it. It made for some very great pictures and I had a rough time picking out my photo of the day for this day. Our walk was good, I don't think either of us had anything to complain about, except for maybe heat toward the end of the walk. We made it across in one hour and thirty-five minutes.

After the walk, we met mom at the restaurant where she sits and has coffee while she waits for us. She drove us to see dad at his Operators picnic to see if he wanted to go to breakfast with us. He declined, but I got a free shirt, so it was worth it. We left dad and went to Big Boy (add an s if you are Katie and reading this) for breakfast. Food was delicious and much needed.

When we got home we watched Crash. Well, I should say Justin watched Crash and I crashed. I was so tired I couldn't possibly keep my eyes open to watch the movie. Shortly after the movie was over Justin had to leave, we cuddled for a bit then said goodbye. About 45 minutes later I got a call from him saying that he was stuck in traffic, and he wasn't even to Gaylord yet! I told my parents and the three of us agreed that his best bet would be turning around and staying at our house for the night and then getting up in the morning and heading back to Kalamazoo, but the decision was ultimately his. He made the right decision and came back to my parents.
We had dinner when he got here. Then we went off on a blackberry hunting expedition, which proved unsuccessful, unless you count Justin's million bug bites as success. When we got back, we took showers and then played some Jeopardy before calling it a night.

Painted Floor.

Sunday (September 6) we got up and ate breakfast. Then we spent some time upstairs with my parents and Justin and Dad got sucked into a day long marathon of the mini-series "Band of Brothers." But Justin watched most of it downstairs because we had stuff to do.

We cleaned everything off my floor and swept and mopped it. Then we FINALLY painted it! It looks so good!! While we waited for it to dry he watched the show and I played games on his DS. Then once it was dry we put everything that belonged on the floor back and laid in bed watching tv and playing games most of the day. Neither of us can think of anything else we did. Go us!

Birthday Party.

Saturday (September 5) Justin and I got up, ate breakfast, and started preparing for the birthday party. We both had to shower and get ready. Then I had to decorate the cakes and make a sugar free brownie batch for my grandma and mom. When we were all ready we headed to my brother and sister in law's house.

We have a trio birthday party every year because my grandma's birthday is August 27, my mom's is the 29th and my brother's is the 31st. So we spent the afternoon and early evening with my family. The most exciting thing that happened was when my nephew pulled out one of his teeth. We all tried to convince him to pull another, even though none of the others were REALLY loose. haha.

When we got home, Justin and I hung out outside for a while. I love just spending time with him, not necessarily doing anything. When we went inside, we had dinner and then played a couple games of euchure with my parents. After the games we came down to bed and watched tv for a bit before crashing for the night.

Never Been Kissed.

Friday (September 4, yes, I realize I am 12 days behind at this moment. . . goal, be caught up by the end of the weekend!) Justin and I had yet another lazy day. I know, shocking, right? We hung out at my parents' house. During the day we watched Never Been Kissed and played video games. Never Been Kissed is one of my favorite movies and Justin hadn't seen it, so I determined it was necessary. Earlier in the week we went though all my movies, he told me which ones he hadn't seen and I determined which ones were necessary for him to see. Then I put them in an Excel spreadsheet and we determine which one we will watch by a random number generator.

After we watched the movies we made dinner. After dinner, we made fudge and two cakes. I had to make cakes for Saturday, and I always find it's easier if I do them the day before so I just have to decorate them on the day of and I'm not as stressed out that way.

While the cakes and fudge were cooling, Justin and I went outside and played with Bridget. She loves playing fetch, even though she forgets to bring the ball back sometimes. lol. When we were done playing with her we came back in, played a couple games of Jeopardy, watched some TV and went to bed.

He's Back.

Thursday (September 3) I got up and got ready for the day. Then Mom and I went in to Cheboygan to get her car and return the loaner. After we did that we went to Indian River and went grocery shopping. It was actually rather enjoyable to get out of the house and DO something! When we got home I went outside and took my pictures of the day.

After that, I took the car and went down to the fire station to take care of my weekly air station run. I wanted to get it done before Justin got back in town so he didn't have to go sit at the station with me. When my half hour air station run was done I swept out the truck bays and went home. I called Katie and was talking to her when Justin pulled in the yard. We finished my conversation with Katie then just sat out on the family swing and talked for a while. I miss him so much when he's gone.

We took his stuff inside and put it away and then we made dinner together. I love it when he helps me cook (even if it's just being in the kitchen stirring whatever is on the stove). Dad and I cut a deal that if I make dinner I don't have to do dishes. Um. . . BEST. DEAL. EVER. We ate dinner with my parents then watched Slumdog Millionaire with them.

Then we just hung out and played games and watched tv and just spent time together. Honestly, those are the best days in my mind. I love just laying around being lazy with Justin. Love it.

Two Days of Nothing.

Tuesday (September 1), I didn't really do a whole lot! Go figure, right. I spent most of the day working on crafts, finding my stuff I need in order to work on them. As you know, I'm still not all the way unpacked so I had to do a little searching. I also watched some tv, talked to my loves (Justin and Katie), and did some reading. I want to finish the Twilight series soon so I can return Carolyn's books (which she probably forgot I had until she read this!) and just be done with it. I also spent some time Tuesday catching up on sleep. I just haven't been sleeping well or enough, so it is beyond necessary.

Tuesday I also spent some time putting stuff away and getting stuff organized around my room. It's starting to look pretty good!! :D

Needs More Sugar.

Monday (August 31) I got up in the morning and went to town with mom. She had a bunch of errands to run and I needed to drop off my application and resume at a potential job site. (I will only share details if I in fact get the job.) See, being carless and all means that if I need to go somewhere I need to go with someone, or borrow a car. So, while I didn't have anything I needed to do, she did. While she ran her errands I spent quite a bit of time reading. Then Katie called me. So we talked for a couple hours and made a tenative plan for next year. (Once again, all will be revealed if it happens!)

Shortly after I got off the phone with Katie, my mom came out of the doctor's office. Our brakes had been smoking really bad when we got to the doctor's, so we went back to Cheboyan and had to sit at the dealership while they looked at the car and decided what they were going to do about it. Eventually they gave us a loaner and sent us home.

When we got home I watched some TV and spent some time on WeddingBook and didn't really do much. Katie called me again and we talked forever (like 4 hours, not kidding). In our converstaion we decided I should start an online store and start selling my jewelry and various other crafts and stuff I make. So we started trying to come up with names. Some of the choices were: Sarazmataz's Jewlery Land, Parrott Art Inc., Dark Disaster Designs, Art Girl (taken), Olive You Art, and Disco Ball Designs. While I was on the phone with her, she decided to make a glass of KoolAid, yes, a glass out of a whole packet. She was trying to get her ratios right and she said "hmm, needs more sugar." And I about yelled "YES!" I really liked it, but wasn't sure that I would in the long run, well I do! So I signed up for an Etsy account, my store Needs More Sugaris in existance, but empty. I am still working on filling it. You better believe once it's open for business I will be letting ya'll know! :)

After I got done talking with her, I talked to Justin for a while and browsed etsy and wrote down my ideas of what all I wanted to make, and some of the prices of similar things. When we were done talking I went to bed.

SK.

Sunday (August 30) Justin and I slept in. Not that that is anything out of the ordinary. After we got up and had breakfast/lunch, we just hung out. We spent the day cuddling and watching movies and playing video games. I know, that's all we did all week. Trust me, we both were ready for plenty of time to relax.

We eventually ate dinner, I put it off as long as possible because I knew he was leaving me after we ate. But alas, all good things come to an end at some point. So we ate dinner and he took off shortly there after. He had an eventful ride home while I just hung out on Weddingbook and watched TV waiting for his call that he made it ok. When he called, we talked for a bit and then I went to bed because I was exhausted!

Happy Birthday Mom!

Saturday (August 29) was my mom's birthday. I won't say how old she is, so she won't kick my ass. lol.

We got up in the morning, probably more like afternoon, and had breakfast (or lunch). I insist that my first meal of the day is breakfast, no matter what time it is, Justin determines what meal it is by what time of day it is. Anyhow, after we ate we worked on my room for a while. Then my parents had invited us to go out to dinner with them for Mom's birthday. So we got ready for that. I actually spnet some time and curled my hair and everything! Then I realized it was raining, fail.

Oh well, we went to Lorenzo's for dinner. I thought it was pretty good. I had never been there, or heard of it and it was just a short distance from my house. Guess I need to do more exploring on the Cheboygan side! After dinner we went to Cheboygan because we needed to get some supplies to finish the shelving in the closet in my room. We decided to get Dairy Queen for dessert while we were there. We went down to the park and watched the wicked cold waves splashing against the rocks while we ate our ice cream. When I finished my ice cream I braved getting out of the car to try to get my picture of the day. I nearly froze to death in the few minutes I was outside snapping photos, but I got the picture! :)

After we left the park we went to Walmart to get the brackets we needed to put up the shelves in my closet. Then we went home. When we got here I worked on painting my shelves for my wall in my room and Dad put up my shelves in my closet. Then Justin and I watched some TV and just hung out before going to bed.

Errands.

Friday I had to go to Cheboygan to get some information about a job and to pick up an application, so Justin went with me. We took care of that, then we went to get my mom's new licence plate. After that we went to Indian River so I could see the chiropractor and possibly be able to move again. It worked, thank goodness. Then we went to the bank and post office. By this time it was lunch time so we went to Subway and had lunch together.

On our way home my brother called me to see if I would stop and pick up the kids. So we stopped by his place and got my niece and nephew. When we got home, Justin and I worked on my room (unpacking boxes mainly). Once the boxes were sufficiently unpacked, we started moving the books and bookshelves in. We got all three bookshelves, my desk and my file cabinet in my room. As well as unpacking most of the boxes.

We did take a break for dinner (I made crab and broccoli pasta) with the family. After we were happy with what we accomplished we spent an hour or two relaxing before we went to bed. My room is starting to look pretty nice though!

Facebook Love.

Thursday I was supposed to go back to work at the Mill. But my back hurt so bad I could barely move. So I went over and told him I wouldn't be able to work that day. Or the next. My chiropractor is closed on Thursday so I wouldn't be able to have anything done to it until Friday, ugh.

So we spent most of the day with me putting heat on my back and relaxing. We played some video games, watched a movie (I think), watched some tv, just really didn't do much.

After dinner, we decided Katie needed to realize how much we miss her. So we made up our minds that we were going to leave a million comments on her facebook. Well we didn't quite reach a million but we did make it to forty. :) It was absolutely ridiculous and absolutely amazing at the same time.

Shortly after we left Katie's facebook alone we went to bed.

Air Station.

Wednesday I got up at a decent time *insert shocked look here* and went over to my neighbor's to talk to him. He owns a saw mill and had told Dad the week before that he would have me help make pallets if I was home. So I decided to take him up on the offer. He told me to be back at 2 for work. I came back home and cuddled with Justin for a bit and then we had lunch and played a game of Jeopardy before I headed to work.

I worked nailing pallets together for a couple hours before we quit for the day. I. HATE. IT. The gun is heavy, I spend the entire time bent over and I failed straight lines in school. lol. Oh well. When I got home Justin and I hung out and played video games and watched tv for a while. My back started hurting mid evening. Oh no.

Then we went to the fire hall. I had to run the air station for its weekly maintenance. Dad tagged along this time to make sure I did it all right and didn't have any questions. I did fine. So next week I am on my own. :) I'm rather proud that it only took me two weeks to get it all right, considering when he first told me what I would have to do I was like "um say what?!" haha.

When we were done with the fire station we came home and had dinner and then played some cards with my parents. After that we went to bed.
