Mackinac Island.

Happy Mother's Day!!

Today my dad and I went to Mackinac Island. Every year on Mother's Day the Star Line ferry gives free rides to the island to residents of Cheboygan county (and a couple others). So, we had planned on going all weekend, but mom decided she wasn't up to it so it was just dad and I. We met my brother, sister-in-law, niece and nephew once we got there. The island with the kids was very enjoyable. They are so darn cute. (Pretty sure I have said that for the past few days.)

First we went to the butterfly house. Half way there Jeremiah announced he was done walking and proceeded to sit down on the sidewalk. So who caved and carried him? Me. Not shocking at all, right? When we walked the bridge last year Jeff or I carried him the majority of the way. Anyway, butterfly house was amazing. Jeremiah had a butterfly on his hand the majority of the time and I had one land on my thigh when I was crouched down. It was gorgeous but just as hard to take pictures of as my bruise is. Then we spent some time looking at the huge insects in the bug cases. I loved them, they gave Jason the heebie-jeebies. (Jason is my brother.)

Then we all went to the Fort. Such as long walk for the very little bit of time we were up there. But, that's ok. I'll live, I don't even think I will be sore tomorrow. Then we headed back to the boat, but before we got to the boat we stopped at the bike shop Kevin works at and said hi real quick. It would have been bad if I would have went to the island and not stopped and said hi, so I was happy to see him. Dad and I came home after that.

While Mom got ready to go I went outside and took some pictures. Then we went to visit my grandma and grandpa. My grandma fell last night and broke her wrist and collarbone and has 9 staples in her head and her entire leg is bruised. She seems to be in good spirits and is feeling well otherwise. So, that's good. It was good to see them. Then we came home and I am finishing my laundry so I can go back to Kalamazoo tomorrow! =)

Thanks girls!!

Grandma's doing ok. The scary part was that when it happened grandpa said she was ok and put her to bed. WITH HER HEAD SQUIRTING BLOOD!!! Dementia and your partner getting seriously injured do not mix well. But he did tell my cousin she fell and he went running over there and took one look at her and told her she was going to the hospital and had two choices: walk or be carried. If he wouldn't have gotten there she wouldn't have made it through the night since her head was still squirting. :S

Seriously - if I didn't read your blog I wouldn't have known my own grandma fell. How sad is that?
