Day 19 - [04.10.10]
This was our last day of practical training for fire school ever. I am rather sad that it is almost over, yet incredibly happy to be done, if that makes any sense. I'll definitely miss seeing the guys on a regular basis, but I'm happy that I will have a large chunk of time freeing up. And I'll be even happier when I know without a doubt that I passed my exam and practical!
In the picture there was a team inside that was calling for more hose, so the guys outside were helping feed the hose in to them. We were doing smoke house training (the house was full of smoke, it's the closest we can get to a real life scenario without lighting a fire). We all went in in teams of two and rescued someone and I played victim a couple times. Man, being the victim is rough. I got drug down stairs head first. And I got the hose turned on on me. And someone ripped my boot off while trying to drag me. Yep. But I enjoyed most every moment of it. :)
Song of the Day:
Blame It On the Alcohol by Jamie Foxx
[I heard this song a couple times that day. Over the summer Katie and I listened to it a lot. That night we went out and celebrated Shawnia's birthday, so I figured it was an appropriate choice for song of the day. :) ]
