When we got there we walked down to the lake and talked and just spent time together. Then we drove over to the other side, where we would be staying for the weekend, and sat in the truck and talked until we could register. At five thirty, we registered and got our cabin assignments. We went and dropped our stuff off in our cabins and made up our beds. After that we tried geo-caching. But we couldn't find the second clue, so we eventually gave up and went back to the game room. There we played a couple games of ping pong before it was time for snack. At camp, the last thing you would ever be is hungry! We had popcorn chicken bowls with potatoes and corn and gravy for "snack." After snack, we had chapel for an hour and a half or so. More of an introduction type chapel, that's how it usually is Friday night. Once chapel was let out we had snack. Again. After snack we played a couple games of pool and ping pong before going to bed.
Tom Harmon was our speaker again this year. Ironically, he talked about a canoe race he was in fifteen years ago at camp. Fifteen years ago was our first trip to Camp Barakel. I was SEVEN on our first trip to camp. At that point, I told Dad that I wouldn't miss a year until one of us was no longer capable of going. We haven't missed a year yet, and we won't. Period. End of story. :)
